COBRA/VIPER Administration

VADA Insurance Trust members with over 20 employees must offer COBRA to terminating employees (or dependents who lose group coverage with you) who have been on the plan for at least one day. Dealerships with fewer than 20 employees must offer VIPER to terminating subscribers who have been on the plan for at least one day. The COBRA/VIPER benefit applies to both medical and dental benefits.

Business Resource Services (BRS) administers COBRA and VIPER for members offering medical only or medical and dental. VADA will send, upon receipt of a termination notice or change form, the information to BRS for processing. Former employees and/or dependents will receive COBRA/VIPER information directly from BRS to elect continuation of coverage.
