The WalkTheWhites Challenge

The WalkTheWhites Challenge was a 10 week, 354 mile virtual walk through the scenic White Mountains of New Hampshire that took place in the fall of 2007. Using a pedometer, each participant logged his/her daily steps which were then converted to miles.

Fifteen out of 20 teams completed the full 354 mile WalkTheWhites pedometer challenge by the end of week 10 (the end of the challenge). These teams walked an astounding 155,833 miles over the course of 10 weeks! This is equivalent to walking around the entire earth over 6 times. Congratulations to all of the teams that competed, and especially to those teams that completed the challenge in 10 weeks or less.

First place and $500 went to the team from Alderman Chevrolet which completed the challenge in only 7 weeks, walking an incredible 52 miles per team member per week. Second place and $250 went to Saturn of South Burlington for completing the challenge in 8 weeks and walking an average of 49.3 miles per week. Third place and $125 went to Snowfire, while fourth place and $50 went to Shearer Chevrolet Hummer. For complete results, click here.
