Community Support

VADA and its member organizations have long been known for local community support and generous donations to and sponsorship of the following program.

Vermont Automobile Dealers AssociationAutomotive Consumer Action Program (AUTOCAP) - Operated in conjunction with the Office of the Vermont Attorney General and administered by VADA, AUTOCAP works with consumers and dealers to resolve complaints. When necessary, cases are referred to a mediation panel comprised of consumers and dealers.

Vermont Technical College Automotive Technology Program - VADA and VTC worked together to develop an Associates Degree Program in Automotive Technology, and VADA provided funding for the building and equipment of the Technology Center. In addition, $100,000 in scholarship monies have been raised for automotive students. Since the program's inception, VADA's overall contribution is close to one million dollars.

Vermont Automotive Instructor Technical and Vocational Center Support - VADA provides continuing education opportunities for instructors, has assisted in purchasing textbooks and equipment in support of automotive programs, and created a credentialing program for students who successfully achieve standards set by VADA. In addition, VADA provides support for students interested in competing in the Greater New York Automotive Technology Competition. VADA is currently working with several programs toward certification by the National Automotive Technical Education Foundation and AYES to encourage young people to consider satisfying careers in retail automotive service.

Vermont History Day - VADA sponsors an annual award for a prize-winning entry related to the history of Vermont's transportation infrastructure or automobiles.

Emergency Medical Training Units - Since 1986, VADA has provided 73 CPR training manikins to local fire, rescue and emergency stations throughout Vermont. Download a copy of the CPR Training Unit Application in either MS-Word format or Adobe PDF.

Teen Challenge Community Service Project - In 2005, VADA provided a vehicle to ''Teen Challenge,'' a faith based residential program designed to help drug and alcohol abusers straighten out their lives. Ten members will select local community service projects throughout Vermont to be served by Teen Challenge work crews.
