COBRA AND VIPER

The VADA Insurance Trust has two options for your subscribers to continue their benefits. Dealerships with over 20 employees can offer the terminating subscribers who have been on the plan for at least one day COBRA. Dealerships with under 20 employees can offer the terminating subscribers who have been on the plan for at least three months VIPER.

COBRA is administered by Combined Services, Inc. Dealerships who have 20 or more employees are responsible for sending Combined Services a COBRA form for all terminating employees that have been on the plan for one day.

VIPER is administered by the VADA Insurance Trust. The State of Vermont enacted H. 633 which provides for continuation of medical insurance for employees in the event of termination of employment from an employer with fewer than twenty employees.
